Intel in Early Talks to Manufacture Chips for AMD
Intel is reportedly discussing a deal to produce some of AMD’s chips, signaling a potential shift from AMD’s exclusive reliance on TSMC.
Apple has rolled out iOS 26, its newest software update, featuring a refreshed interface design and enhanced on-device capabilities aimed at improving performance, personalization, and overall user experience.
1. Liquid glass: The new look for iOS 26
The most noticeable change in iOS 26 is the new “Liquid Glass” design. It gives your iPhone a sleek, translucent appearance across the Lock Screen, Home Screen, Control Centre, and apps. On the Lock Screen, the time and notifications adapt seamlessly to your wallpaper, while app icons look sharper and more refined. The interface also responds to your content and environment, making your iPhone feel more dynamic and in tune with how you use it.
2. Apple Intelligence
Apple Intelligence introduces advanced on-device AI features, available on the iPhone 15 Pro and newer. Some key tools include:
Live Translation: Instantly translate text and audio within Messages, FaceTime, and the Phone app.
Visual Intelligence: Interact with on-screen content — for example, turn an email list into Reminders.
Genmoji and Image Playground: Create personalized emojis and images from simple text prompts.
Adaptive Power Mode: Optimizes performance and battery use during demanding tasks to extend usage time.
3. Better communication and productivity
Everyday apps get smarter and more practical with iOS 26:
Phone and Messages: Call Screening asks unknown callers to state their name and purpose. Hold Assist notifies you when a live agent is on the line. Messages now let you set custom conversation backgrounds, create group polls, and automatically sort unknown senders into a separate folder.
4. Updated core apps
Several core apps have been redesigned for easier use:
Photos: A clearer separation between Library and Collections makes browsing and organizing photos simpler.
Maps: Learns your regular commutes and alerts you to potential delays before you leave.
Wallet: Now supports digital U.S. passports and offers more detailed boarding passes with luggage tracking and airport navigation.
Games: A new dedicated hub helps you track achievements, find new titles, and compete with friends.
5. Other valuable additions
Apple Music AutoMix: Blends songs with smooth transitions, like a professional DJ.
Preview App: Edit PDFs and images directly on your iPhone without third-party apps.
CarPlay Updates: Fresh layouts and compact call views make driving interactions more seamless.
