When Numbers Speak: Google Overtakes Apple in the Ranking of Tech Giants

Apple is expected to shake up its usual iPhone release schedule this time around, and that’s not great news for budget buyers. Reports suggest the standard iPhone 18 won’t launch alongside the Pro models, meaning customers might have to wait until early 2027 to get their hands on it.
That said, the delay could come with a meaningful upgrade. Analyst Dan Nystedt recently claimed that the base iPhone 18 may feature 12GB of RAM — something Apple has never offered in its entry-level models before.
This would follow Apple’s move to bring 12GB of RAM to the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max in 2025. The upgrade is likely tied to the upcoming A20 chip, which is expected to power the new lineup.
While Nystedt didn’t explain the exact reason behind the jump, it likely comes down to Apple’s growing focus on AI. With more “Apple Intelligence” features expected in iOS 27, extra RAM will be essential. Even though the iPhone 18 won’t be a flagship device, it still needs to handle these new features smoothly.
Apple is expected to unveil iOS 27 at WWDC on June 8, followed by several months of beta testing. The final release will likely arrive in the fall, alongside the iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max, and the much-rumored iPhone Fold.
